Forests do not disappear all at once. They remain—in fragments, in memory, and in the names of places. Doire, the Irish word for an oak grove, is an ode to the Lost Forest of Shillelagh, once stretching across the hills and valleys of South Wicklow. Layers of forest green and near-black beads evoke the quiet density of an ancient woodland, while scattered brass details emerge like fragments of bark and shafts of light breaking through the canopy. Handcrafted with Rudraksha, cotton yarn and semi-precious stones, Doire carries the memory of a landscape that has changed, yet refuses to be entirely forgotten. What was felled still takes root in memory. A talisman of resilience, remembrance and our enduring connection to the land.
