KERN, from the Ériu Collection, draws its spirit from the swift-footed kerns of medieval Gaelic Ireland—warriors whose strength lay in agility, endurance and instinct. Reimagined by Maya as a fluid breastplate, interlaced brass chains fall across the body, softened by hand-knotting and an intricate mix of freshwater pearls, kundan pendants, lapis semi-precious stones, a fish pendant, a unicorn brass pendant and yarn.
